51st Annual Scientific Meeting - 22nd-25th May 2010, Melbourne, Australia
The 51st Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian Rheumatology Association will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in association with the Rheumatology Health Professionals Association, from 22-25 May 2010.
We are committed to delivering a succinct 3-day meeting that meets the needs of busy practicing clinicians and researches alike. To this end, translational science is embedded throughout the sessions as a prelude to tackling clinical management.
The major themes of the meeting are:
1). Osteoporosis & Metabolic bone diseases
2). Vasculitis & Connective Tissue Diseases
3). Communicating Risk in Rheumatology
4). Arthritis & Pain - Neurobiology & Treatment
Other sessions will address the cutting edge basic and clinical science, corticosteroid toxicity, the biology of the inflammasome, auto-inflammatory syndromes, therapeutics in the "evidence-free zone" and the rheumatology of the lower limb. There will be free basic and clinical science abstracts, an ARA Clinician-Investigators session and the highly popular Clinical Grand Rounds.
An eminent international faculty of speakers has been secured including Stavros Manolagas (Little Rock, USA), Anisur Rahman (University College, London), R. Andrew Moore (Oxford) and Seza Ozen (Ankara, Turkey). They will be joined by a host of leading national speakers and opinion leaders.
